About us
We believe early learning covers all areas of a child’s learning and development. Nurturing the whole child is essential for preparing all children for success in school and in life. To accomplish this, we are using the Creative Curriculum which helps teachers individualize instruction. Our teachers follow the child’s lead and track their progress to ensure they are meeting developmental milestones. By using the same curriculum for all age groups, the information about a child can be passed along as the child transitions from one classroom to the next. At Tomorrow’s Hope, the curriculum is designed and implemented to maximize children’s learning and needs. It provides experiences that enrich and enhance each child’s social, emotional, cognitive, language, physical, and creative development. The curriculum must be consistent with the goals for early learner children. We believe the curriculum should not focus on just one area of development. Children are given opportunities to learn and develop through exploration and play, and teachers have opportunities to work with individual children and small groups on specific skills. Materials and equipment spark children’s interest and encourage them to experiment and learn. Activities are designed to help children get better at reasoning, solving problems, getting along with others, using language, and developing other skills. It is important that the curriculum balances different activities and approaches to maximize children’s learning and development. The daily schedule offers alternating periods of active and quiet play. Children develop a positive self-concept through a balance of self and teacher-directed activities. Opportunities for solitary play, as well as group activities, are provided. Our staff serve as positive role models and provide care that is supportive, nurturing, warm, and responsive to each individual child’s needs. We respect parents as the primary and most important provider of care and nurturing, and we believe parents/guardians are partners in the children’s care and education. We support the idea that in order for each child to grow to her or his full potential, the child must be allowed to learn at his or her own rate and the success in learning will ensure the development of a child’s self-image.
