Alice has a degree in Early Childhood and Family Studies from the University of Washington. She brings experience from many different types of Child Development Centers. She started as a student volunteer at Sand Point Child Development Center and came back in the summer of 2019. SPCDC holds a special place in her heart and is dedicated to making it the best it can be through research, constant collaboration and challenging the norms.

Director

Shae has worked in the Early Childhood field for over 3 years and has experience working with children from toddler through school-age. She developed a love for working with children from raising her younger brothers and having a large family. Originally from Washington, she enjoys spending quality time with her daughter and exploring the outdoors. She loves developing meaningful relationships with the children and families and is very community oriented.

Young Pre-K Teacher (3 — 4 year olds)

Originally from Hawaii, Patti stuck around Washington after receiving her BS in Natural Science from Puget Sound University. She worked as a Camp Naturalist at YMCA Camp Seymour where she taught environmental education classes to students K-6th grade. Her love of the outdoors took her to New York to continue her career in the outdoor education field however she missed the Puget Sound and the mountain ranges so she came back to WA with the intention of redirecting her career goals.

SPCDC is a small childcare center situated in a remodeled, single-family house in the Sand Point neighborhood of northeast Seattle. Established in 1986, we are a non-profit corporation with school policies set by our board of parents. We are licensed for 22 children ages 18 months to 6 years, and keep a waiting list [http://www.spcdc.org/enrollment.html] for future openings. Due to our emphasis on low teacher-child ratios, openings are limited.
