About us

At Orlando Early Learning Academy, we continually develop programs that make learning an enjoyable experience. FOOD PROGRAM | VPK | SCHOOL READINESS | PRIVATE PAY GREAT CURRICULUM

OELA has an open-door policy. You are welcome to visit anytime during our operating hours.

OELA offers programs to serve children from Infants to 12 years of age, including infants, toddlers, preschool, VPK, holiday camps, and after-school programs. We accept school-readiness funding through 4C, as well as private pay.

Curriculum

Our Programs provide an environment where children develop the fundamental skills necessary for school readiness by offering security, guidance, and encouragement. We believe children learn through active exploration and discovery of their environment, which encourages them to investigate new ideas and take educational risks.

Infant Program

Our Infant Care Program Features:

Nurturing, personal care that builds your infant's self-esteemRegular teacher-child interactions that spark curiosity and socializationPlaytime and experiences that help boost cognitive and motor skillsAge-appropriate materials and equipment that support learning and developmentRegular teacher-family communication, including daily updates to keep you informedA safe childcare environment where your infant has the freedom to move and exploreSafe Sleep Guidelines that meet those of the American Academy of Pediatrics

Toddler and Twos Program

Orlando Early Learning Academy's toddler curriculum is based on the principle that children learn best through direct, hands-on experiences with people, objects, events, and ideas.

Each day has the same basic elements:

Teacher-led group activity times.Center-based, child-directed free play.Outside play time where children use large muscles to move, climb, run and more.Meal times where the class eats together like a family.Nap time when children rest on individual mats.Personal care activities. Children are encouraged to wash hands, diapers are changed and those ready are helped to use the toilet.

Preschool Program

In our preschool classroom, teachers and children are active partners in the learning process. This balanced approach to interaction between adults and children - also call "intentional teaching" - is critical to our effectiveness.

Space and material are carefully arranged to promote active learning. Teachers give preschoolers a sense of control over the day by planning a consistent daily routine that enables the children to anticipate what happens next.

The curriculum is built around activities in these main content areas:

Physical developmentApproaches to learningSocial and emotional developmentLanguage, communication and emergent literacyCognitive development and general knowledge

Documentation of preschoolers' growth and development is through teacher observations and completion of a checklist, parent completion of the Ages & Stages screening forms, and a portfolio of activities that includes samples of artwork and photos.

Voluntary Prekindergarten (VPK)

OELA participates in the Florida Voluntary Prekindergarten Education Program (VPK). The FREE, state-funded program provides 540 hours (3 hours per day for the 180 days following Orange County Public Schools' Calendar) to all children who are four years old on or before September 1st. This educational program was created to prepare every four-year-old in Florida for kindergarten and build the foundation for their educational success. The VPK program offers each child an opportunity to perform better in school and throughout life by offering quality programs that include developmentally appropriate curricula with a focus on early literacy skills, accountability, manageable class size, and increased teacher credentials.

The curriculum used at OELA follows the latest Florida Early Learning and Developmental Standards for Four-Years-Old. To get more information about what this program can offer your child, please give us a call.
