About Cosmopolitan Kids Children's Downtown Academy

Cosmopolitan Kids provides a warm, engaging environment that incorporates a challenging child-centered curriculum while placing high priority on building relationships between caregivers, children, and families. Our classrooms are designed to promote hands-on learning and independent exploration, including opportunities for physical, social, and cognitive development. Teachers have the ability to meet children's needs on an individual basis, and encourage families to become partners in their child’s care. We provide everything that your child will need throughout the day including diapers, all meals, baby foods and formula. Cosmopolitan Kids Academies are located in downtown Seattle and lower Queen Anne.

The center is open Monday - Friday 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM.

What Makes Cosmopolitan Kids Children's Downtown Academy Special?

Cosmopolitan Kids Children's Academy is an owner-operated, female (and mother) founded, play-based organization that started twenty years ago. Shawna Smits and Stephanie Roberts saw the need for quality childcare in Seattle after Stephanie searched for care for her one year old daughter. They have been committed to providing caring and nurturing childcare ever since, opening their first daycare in 1999 and understand the importance of building relationships with your child's caregivers and they strive to provide opportunities for your child and theirs to learn and grow with the Cosmopolitan Kids families and teachers.

How is Cosmopolitan Kids Children's Downtown Academy staying safe during Covid?

Due to Governor Jay Inslee’s mask mandate that goes into effect Friday, June 26th, 2020, there will be some updates to our COVID-19 safety policies. All family members over 5 years of age (including siblings) must wear masks or other face coverings while inside our facility. Additionally, school-aged children 6 years and older who attend our Downtown center will be required to wear masks during the day except while eating and, if applicable, napping. Other children in our younger classrooms will not need to wear masks, although parents may choose to send them in for children in our preschool and pre-k classrooms who are 3 years of age and older. Staff will be wearing masks or face coverings in the center unless they are on break in the staff lounge eating, or if they have been advised against wearing masks by a medical professional.
